Kozhikode District found a place in the World History with the discovery of Sea Route to India in 1498 by the Portuguese Navigator Vasco Da Gama. Vasco Da Gama landed at the Kappad sea shore with three vessels and 170 men.

A monument is constucted here to commemorate the historical landing.Basking in the idyllic setting of the serene Arabian Sea on the west and the proud peaks of the Wayanad hills on the east, this district with the serene beaches, lush green countryside, historic sites, all combine to make Kozhikode a popular tourist destination filled with a warm ambience to fascinate a visitor.

Kozhikode Beach

This beach is quite famous among tourists from all over the world. Not only for its historical importance but for its natural beauty and serenity that attracts travelers more than anything else. It is a favorite spot for viewing the spectacular sunset. 

Kappad Beach

Tali Temple

The Tali Temple was built in the 14th century by Swami Thirumulpad. This temple is one of the greatest attractions of Calicut. It is made with a remarkable combination of laterite along with wood. Also, the rich evidence of the Keralean architecture makes this temple more amazing.

Thushagiri Falls

This fall is situated in the state of Calicut in India and has a beautiful surrounding.

Thikkoti Light House

This monument is said to be built on the remains of a shipwreck from a boat which was found to be trashed at the rocky sea shore. The monument is extremely beautiful and very well constructed.  


Beyore is a small village located in the district of Kozhikode. Earlier this place was known by the name of Vaypura by the natives; it was also named after the very famous Tipu Sultan as "Sultan Pattanam".

The village is very peaceful, serene and pure in terms of the environment and has a historical past as the village was one of the historic ports where trading initiated between Asia and the Middle East. The small village is also known for constructing wooden ships.
