Coimbatore , Tamil Nadu


Kovai alias Coimbatore is the second largest city in Tamil Nadu. It is also one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Located at the foot of Nilgiris, Coimbatore is also called "Poor man's Ooty". Apart from being a fast developing town, it is famous for its rich culture.

Situated in the west of Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore shares border with Kerala state as well. It is surrounded by the Western Ghats mountain range to the West and the North, with quite a few reserve forests and the infamous Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve on the northern side. The best part about Coimbatore is that it is within easy access from most hill stations such as Ooty and Valparai.

It is located 12 kms from Coimbatore. Maruthamalai has got its name from marutha trees which are found in large number. 

Perur Lord Shiva Temple

Patteeswarar Temple, is dedicated to Lord Shiva.  It is located 7 km to the west of Noyyal River. Also, there is a golden statue of Nataraja in one of the halls of Patteeswarar Temple.


Black Thunder


 It is Asia's number 1 theme park, which is located amidst the woods, with Nilgiri hills making the perfect backdrop. It is spread over 65 acres of land having all kinds of adventurous and thrilling rides. It located at a distance of 41 km from Coimbatore.



Nilgiri Hills

Nilgiris is India's first biosphere that ranks among the 14 'hotspots' of the world. It is among the oldest mountain ranges in India and a home to three beautiful hill stations - Coonoor, Ooty, and Kotagiri.

Siruvani Falls

This beautiful waterfall is situated 35 km to the west of Coimbatore. A dam is also constructed there, named after this waterfall.

Kovai Kondattam

Kovai Kondattam is a theme park in Coimbatore located 3 km away from Perur temple.The other adventure options available are rock climbing, water dance, wave pool, and dashing cars for small kids. It is one of the most popular amusement parks near Coimbatore. 

Eachnari Vinayagar Temple

Lord Vinayaga is venerated as the foremost God of the Universe. One of the famous Vinayagar Temple is one at Eachanari, which is situatedon the Pollachi highway 9 Kms away from Coimbatore. 

It is said that when the Vinayaga idol measuring 6 feet high and 3 feet in diameter was being transported from Madurai in a cart for installation at Patteeswarar Temple, Perur, the axle of the cart broke and it became scated in the place where it is now. Efforts to remove the idol to perur did not materialize and this place where the Lord Graces is popularly known as Eachanari Vinayaga Temple.
